        This year's Spring Festival holiday saw a great boom in visitors to Wuxi in Jiangsu province as 2.7 million tourists visited the city bringing in 2.83 billion yuan ($430 million) in revenue, according to the local tourist administration.


        From Feb 7 to 13, the number of tourists rose by 10.9 percent compared with the same period in 2015 as the income generated by the boost in visitor numbers increased by 15.7 percent from the previous year.
        Wuxi is a popular self-drive location for families as there are many interesting locations within a short distance of each other, such as Turtle Head Isle, the Lingshan Buddhist Scenic Spot and Wuxi Studios.
        The newly opened Blossom Hill Pastoral Poem Hot Spring Hotel & Resort in Yangshan town, Huishan district, made its debut during the holiday drawing large crowds and attracting tourists from all over the country.

        Thanks to the area's naturally occurring volcanic hot springs, Yangshan town has developed into one of the most attractive tourist resort projects in the Yangtze River Delta.
        Additionally, bed & breakfast accommodation is becoming more and more popular with tourists in recent years and is playing an important role in boosting Wuxi's rural tourism industry.
