Wuxi airport receives 4.6 million passengers in 2015

Wuxi Sunan International Airport, also known as Wuxi Airport, received over 4.6 million passengers in 2015, up 10.3 percent from 2014 and ranked 42nd among the country's 202 airports, the Wuxi Daily reported.
With the safe landing of flight MU2966 on the evening of Dec 31, 2015, Wuxi Airport completed the milestone of staying accident-free for 12 consecutive years.
Last year, Wuxi Airport finished the construction of its second terminal and the partial transformation of its old terminal. The entry and exit procedure for international visitors was optimized. A new port for aquatic products was also added.
In the second half of 2015, the airport took millions of people in and out of the city safely during many important events like the 70th anniversary of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the fourth World Buddhist Forum and the China – Central and Eastern Europe Summit.
As a contribution to connecting the country, the airport introduced 13 international airlines and finished construction of an aerial network radiating across East Asia.
