        Tour of Wuxi Taihu Lake 2014 opened

        The Tour of Taihu Lake 2014 (UCI2.1 Level) opened at Li Lake Light on the morning of November 1. The competition, with the level of UCI2.1 and overall length of over 1,900 square kilometers, will be held in Wuxi, Suzhou, Changzhou, Nantong, Huzhou and Shanghai from November 1 to November 19.


        Reportedly, the competition attracted over 200 top athletes of 20 UCI intercontinental professional teams, intercontinental teams and national teams from 15 countries and regions including Ukraine, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Malaysia, Turkey, Algeria and Hong Kong, China. The section in Binhu, Wuxi was made up of professional group, amateur group and mass cycling group. The amateur group project was newly added in 2014, which had participation of 240 bicycle fans of amateur clubs nationwide, set a length of 45 kilometers and was divided into mountain bike team, road bicycle team and team group. 
        According to incomplete statistics, in the whole city, there have been 5 bicycle clubs, dozens of bicycle organizations of different kinds and more than 8,000 bicycle fans owning complete equipment. Every weekend and holiday and at night, bicycle fans in an endless stream will show up at the bank of Li Lake and along the Tai Lake Eighteen Bays, to advocate fashionable life style of green environmental protection and low-carbon travelling by practical action.
