Study Mandarin in Wuxi Xu Xiake's former residence

Xu Xiake(1587-1641 years) is the outstanding traveler and geographer in China.His former residence in NanQi village,Ma town,Jiangyin(In order to commemorate the great man, Ma town has been renamed as "Xiake town").It is a good place for the foreigners to know Chinese culture and Chinese History. It was fired in late Ming years,but his grandnephew Xu Jun Quan rebuilt it in Qing Junji years.There was only 7 tile-roofed house left till 1984.But in 1985, the Government allocated to overhaul. Existing seventeen main house, two rooms now, covers an area of Two Acres. The front door hangs the horizontal inscribed board writing" Xu Xiake's former residence", legislation on both sides are Pan Tuo stone. The back of the door engraved"Rope Zuwu" brick.First into,there is the courtyard in front, 2 sides are rooms.The east-west direction sets flower beds. The brick “anterior margin after” is in front of the hall. The rooms and the hall are set as the exhibition room,to display Xu Xiake's life story and lava samples.Second into,there is a ancient yew podocarpus left. According to legend, it was planted by Xu Xiake, it has been about 400 years old.The hall is called “Worship Hall”,the middle hanging the portrait of Xu Xiake, Exhibition of calligraphy and painting by Contemporary painting and calligraphy, In memory of Xu Xiake.Also photos for Xu Xiake’s travelled around.Sheng Shui Bridge, standing on the Zhen Tang river which is  in front of the Xu Xiake's residence. It is rumoured that Xu Xiake is in a harbor, the bridge also has a history of 400 years.It was rebuilt in 1985,and keeps the the style of Southern Yangtze in Ming years.
