Visa Application and Materials Preparation for Foreign Students

Visa application and materials preparation for foreign students (students from Hong Kong and Macao excluded) to study in China
1. Long-term students (to study in China for more than 6 months)
Procedures of visa application to study in China
Go through the approval procedures of visa for foreign student to study in China (JW202 Form)
Acceptant schools apply to Wuxi Municipal Education Bureau →Wuxi Municipal Education Bureau issues JW202 Form→Foreign students apply for X Visa (Study/Student Visa) in local Chinese Embassy (or the Chinese Consulate General) →Foreign students can come to China
Required documents for JW202 Form
1) Admission notice of acceptant schools
2) Guardianship proxy
If the foreign student is under the age of 18, notarization and authentication on Guardianship Proxy are needed, except that the parent of the foreign student works in Wuxi. If the guardianship proxy is handled in foreign countries, the proxy must be notarized and authenticated by both the country of the foreign student and the local Chinese Embassy (or the Chinese Consulate General). If the proxy is handled in China, the proxy can be notarized and authenticated by both China and the embassy (or the consulate general) of the student’s country in China.
3) Valid passport copy of the foreign student
4) Valid ID card and work permit of guardian or guarantee of the foreign student
2. Short-term students (to study in China for less than 6 months)
The foreign students to study in Wuxi in groups can apply for the F Visa to local Chinese Embassy (or the Chinese Consulate General) based on the invitation of authorized organization. Acceptant school must to sign an agreement with the overseas dispatching organization and require it to deal with the legal procedures in organizing the immigration of minors, and dispatch the principals, guardians of the students during their stay in China, in advance.
Required procedures
Foreign students enter China →Foreign students (those under the age of 18 is exempt) apply for accommodation registration and deal with health verification to local police station within 24 hours after arrival →Foreign students deal with residence permit on the 2nd floor of Visa Hall, Wuxi Municipal Bureau for Public Security (within 30 days after arrival)
Required documents
Ⅰ Temporary accommodation registration by local police station
1) To apply within 24 hours after arrival
2) Take along valid passport and entry visa of the foreign student
Ⅱ Health verification (those under the age of 18 is exempt)
Take along a copy of valid passport and 2 2-inch color photos and an empty stomach is needed

Ⅲ Required materials acceptant school needs to hand in to Wuxi Municipal Bureau for Public Security in dealing with residence permit
1) Written application of foreign student (identification, purpose and personal signature)
2) Instruction request report of acceptant school (school overview, relation to the applier, certification on the reasons for the visa and the dwell time of the foreign student)
3) Valid passport of the foreign student and its copy
4) Physical examination certificate (valid within 6 months for foreign students above the age of 18)
5) Copy of the school code
6) The third form JW202 Form
7) 2 2-inch photos of the foreign student 
8) Registration Form of Temporary Residence
9) Fill in the Residence Permit Application Form
