Wuxi International Marathon kicked off

The 2014 Wuxi International Marathon was held by the side of the Lake Taihu on April 13, with participation of over 15,000 long-distance runners. This picture shows competitors successively rushing out from the starting line. 
The 2014 Wuxi International Marathon is the 1st whole-journey marathon international competition in Jiangsu, and a total of 15,000 professional and amateur players enrolled in the competition. The tracing track this time was elaborately divided into 3 categories of whole-journey marathon, halfway marathon and mini marathon, and concluded 100-meter high spray in the Lihu Lake, Shilifangjing, Jiangnan University, Changguangxi Wetland, Wuxi Grand Theatre and other multiple natural and cultural scenic spots, where beautiful natural scenery, city construction achievements, ecological management beauty, historical and cultural landscapes and others could be appreciated and which was praised as one of the most beautiful marathon tracks nationwide. 
The most beautiful racing track attracted more than 400 foreign athletes to take part in. Specially invited players from Africa were still kings of marathon, championships respectively in male and female groups of the whole-journey marathon were won by contestants from Ethiopia. In the male whole-journey race, LEMA, a player from Ethiopia, became the champion by the result of 2 hours, 16 minutes and 48 seconds, and Li Zicheng, one from China, was the second runner-up with the result of 2 hours, 18 minutes and 27 seconds; and in the female whole-journey race, Wang Xiaoshu, and Zhang Yongbo, both from China, respectively won the second place and the third place.
