The Wuxi Big World Cineplex

Wuxi Big World Cineplex is located at the commercial zone on Zhongshan Road, in the downtown area of Wuxi. Sanyang Square Station – the cineplex’s nearest subway station and the intersection station of Subway Line 1 and 2 - leads to the Cineplex, which is on the sixth and seventh floors of the Wuxi Commercial Mansion Grand Orient Co building.

It accommodates 10 professional movie houses, including VIP houses and an IMAX house. All movie houses are equipped with a TMS automatic management system and second generation Reald-3D projection equipment.

The IMAX house (Hall 1) installed a state-of-the-art projection system - the Christie 90°4K HFR dual system - in April, 2014, the first of its kind in China.

All seats in the Cineplex are made of pure wool and were the first seats in a Chinese cinema to use high-end seat material at the time of construction.

The Wuxi Peace Cinema

Wuxi Peace Cinema has witnessed a lot of change during its 67-year tenure. The cinema opened shortly after the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in 1948 and witnessed a second golden age of cinema. It lived through the communist revolution in 1949 and in 1953, changed its name from Queen Theatre to Peace Cinema, with Peace Cinema Co being established in the same year.

The cinema later altered its name to Hongqi (Red Flag) Cinema in 1959 before reverting back to “Peace Cinema” in the 1980s to coincide with a flourishing industry following the end of the Cultural Revolution. As the old saying goes, “If these walls could talk,” then Wuxi Peace Cinema would have more than a few stories to tell from the Republic of China (1912-1949) to the modern day.

It is not only the audience and films that have changed for the cinema over the years. Located at No 34, Shuyuan Lane, Chong’an district, it is now surrounded by 30 bus lines and is just meters away from the Exit 3 of the Sheng Li Men Station of Subway Line 1.

The cinema, once the largest professional cinema in Wuxi, retains much of its original 1948 design and underwent reconstruction work in 2006 to upgrade it to a national five star level. It now accommodates 600 seats in seven screens.

The acoustics are supported by brands of Dolby, Avance and JBL, and the projection systems employ the technology of Barco and GDC. Customized seats are designed in terms of body comfort demands. A new air condition system was installed in 2014; it can keep the houses in a comfortable temperature between 16 and 26 Celsius degree all year around.

Peace Cinema strives to provide a professional and considerate service. 3D glasses are stored in ultraviolet light disinfection cabinets and the surface is scrubbed by a 75 percent alcohol substance. Free blankets are available at the request of audience members. Emergency medicine and first aid kits are also provided.

The China Film Cinema (Powerlong City Square)

China Film Cinema has settled its latest cinematic installment in Wuxi’s Powerlong City Square, New district.

The 4,000 square meter cinema complex accommodates 1,091 seats in six digital movie screens. Each screen houses wide screen displays and roomy row space and are designed and built to a five-star standard. The latest 3D high definition projection equipment and audio systems have been installed.

The cinema is located in Powerlong City Square, the first leisure mall built in Wuxi New district – a district home to around 600,000 people. Powerlong offers retail, catering, entertainment and hotel experiences and has attracted more than 100 famous brands to settle there, including Parkson and Carrefour. Wuxi Jinyi International Cinema

Wuxi Jinyi International Cinema is a leading movie theater financed by Guangzhou Jinyi Cinema Company. It is located on the fifth floor of Taihu Peninsula International Plaza, Zhongqiao Commercial Center, Wuxi.

Wuxi Wanda Cinema

Wuxi Wanda Cinema is the 52th five-star multifunctional movie theater of Wanda Cinemas.

It was opened to the public on September 17, 2010, on the third floor of Wanda Plaza and next to a food streetcourt, providing visitors with a fantastic movie culture banquet experience after their shopping, catering and recreation.

The cinema features an area of 7,200 square meters, having been one of the largest cinemas in Wuxi. There are eight professional digital deluxe movie rooms and an IMAX hall, bringing a variety of movies to visitors.
