204 women sanitation workers in Binhu District renew rights and interests protection contract

Recently, the specialized collective contract on protection of rights and interests of frontline women workers in the Binhu District Sanitation Office was renewed, relieving worries about future of 204 frontline women workers. The Binhu District Sanitation Office had relied on signing collective contract on protection of rights and interests of women workers, and constantly intensified fund guarantee, effectively putting protection of rights and interests of frontline women sanitation workers into practice.

In 2013, Binhu District initiated in the sanitation industry of the whole city to consider the sanitation office and full-time women committee members in the labor union of sanitation office as party A and party B, sign specialized collective contract on protection of rights and interests of frontline women workers and appoint several rights of necessarily safeguarding women workers. Over 3 years, the wages had been increased year by year, and welfare that sanitation workers wouldn't even think about before such as paid leave and housing accumulation fund had also been implemented term by term. With the view of guaranteeing special rights and interests of women workers, the district sanitation office had organized gynecological examination and cervical cancer and breast cancer checking on over 600 women workers, and maternity, parental and breastfeeding leaves as well as other relevant welfare treatment had also been safeguarded in place.

Considering that most frontline women sanitation workers are relatively older and from nonlocal places, have different cultural quality and monotonous sparetime life and live in badly-off families and that other current situations exist, the district sanitation office had successively organized frontline women workers to carry out cooking skill competition, artistic flower arrangement, tug-of-war and other recreational activities, held training in sanitation in public toilets, sweeping in roads and other posts, and conducted loving donation, summer camp of workers' children and other various activities, which had helped women workers solve some practical problems and further give play to their working enthusiasm.
