Jiang Yin - Dragon Boat Festival Learn Mandarin with us
端午节在江阴
Thanks to Carla, a teacher in Mandarin Education School, a group of student has the opportunity to watch the dragon boat festival (one of the most popular event in China).--From Christan
Dragon Boat Festival, the 5th day of the 5th month in the Chinese lunar calendar, has had a history of more than 2000 years. It’s usually in June in the Solar calendar. Dragon boat racing is an indispensable part of this festival, held all over the country. This time, our Mandarin teacher Carla Wang took our french students to the famous water town—Yuecheng in Jiangyin city to watch this exciting competition. The people there was very surprised to see so many french Mandarin Students, they warmly welcomed our Mandarin Students and entertained us with an exquisite lunch. Eddie and Nicolas, our french students, this is their first time to China to learn Chinese, they feel so excited and surprised to see this kind of race, can’t stop to cheer for the team with their limited Chinese:”kuaidian, kuaidian ...“. Mandarin teacher Carla heard this, told them that:”In the competition, when you want to cheer for them, you should say jiayou ,not ‘kuaidian”.Eddie and Nicolas agree that we really need to learn Chinese harder and harder.
