      Planing trees with Wuxi Government

      冒雨植树

China celebrates Arbor Day, or Tree Planting Day, on March 12. The day commemorates the passing of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, China's democratic revolution forerunner, who died on March 12, 1925.Over the past two decades, many people have participated in tree-planting since the country designated March 12 as Tree Planting Day in 1979. China launched its national voluntary tree-planting campaign in the early 1980s. According to a 1981 NPC (National People's Congress, China's top legislature) resolution, all able-bodied Chinese citizens older than age 11 have an obligation to plant three to five trees every year. For different types of climates and suitable times for tree-planting,many provinces and cities in China have a local Arbor Day, Arbor Week and Arbor Month.

Our Wuxi Mandarinedu organized Planing Trees in Wuxi with a thousand Wuxi people and government. It’s our chance to show how powerful our french boy is ,here is a french monologue:

Every year, Chinese people gathered together one day to plant trees. Students and employees of the mandarin institute were invited by the government to participate. At noon, we leave downtown at 5/6 cars towards another district of Wuxi. In the bus, Chinese rituals appear: each passenger must come to the front, take the microphone and introduce himself in front of the bus. It’s an opportunity for our students to practice our first Chinese lessons! Everyone did very successful but a new challenge appears: our Chinese guide really wants us to sing a French song. Harizaka takes the microphone and sing a famous song from his country! Chinese people don’t understand anything but really enjoy the lyrics. One hour later, we arrived in a big field where we will plant tree. The rain begins to fall but our French students are really motivated. Amid full of Chinese, we all take shovels and plant the first “French Tree” in Wuxi ! Some French was even help other Chinese to plant their trees. We watched a show presented by children from Wuxi kindergarten, French students end the day with a creative workshop of clay pottery. Everyone had a great time this afternoon and go back to their place with gifts from the government.
