Mandarinedu activities"Bao Zongzi"
包粽子学汉语
Hey, “Zongzi”, we are coming! Next week is the Dragon Boat Festival of China, and “Zongzi”, this kind of festival food, is very common to Chinese people. But to our Wuxi Mandarin students, that's a very strange and special food. So today, we went to learn how to make “Zongzi”.
In the morning, Our Mandarin students arrived in the school earlier than the usual. It seems they are really excited. So with our Mandarinedu school teachers Eve and Carla , they went to the community. When we went to the second floor, there’re already many residents and university students there. They all welcomed our Mandarin students when they saw us. One Mandarin Student took one “Zongzi” and looked seriously: “ this is Zongzi! What’s inside? How does this taste?” The boys asked curiously. Then teacher Eve showed everyone a teacher to teach them making Zongzi. And the Chinese aunts were very happy to have these foreign students. “First, follow me, you should take two leaves together, then make them shape like this, and put some rice in it.” Teachers said. Our Mandarin students followed the action. “NO, NO, NO, your hands should hold the leaves like this, yes, that’s right.” Their wrong gestures were rectified. Seeing them learnt very hard, Eve and Carla were quite satisfied.
“ What kind of rice is this? And what’s this little red thing?” Our New Mandarin Student Sylvain asked Eve. “ This is sticky rice, different from what we eat everyday. And the red thing is a kind of bean..” Eve answered. “Hey, have you finished making one Zongzi? Pierre~~~” “ I’ve made several! These are all my works!”Another new Mandarin Pierre answered. “Let me see, ha, they are nice! But why the rice is still coming out? Ah, you have to tie the rope as tight as possible!” “Yes, use your teeth to bite one side of the rope and make it tight, yes, that’s right!!” The teacher taught.
Eve and Carla saw them doing quite well, and also wanted to make one. But both of them didn’t know how to make. “So, Sylvain, we don’t know how to make Zongzi, would you like to be my teacher and teach us?” “Haha, Of course, I can teach you, OK, follow me!” Our French student Sylvain had made several and now became a teacher. A French guy was teaching Chinese girls how to make Chinese food, what a funny scene! Then what was our Pierre doing? Ha, a girl beside him was standing by and seeing his works. Haha, Pierre, go and talk to the Chinese girl quickly !!! And Ando, the girl was still concentrating on making Zongzi , but she didn’t notice that there were many boys standing beside her and wanting to take photo with her. It seems our French students are very popular~~~How lovely our Mandarinedu students are!
