      孟宗,三国时期江夏人,少年时父亲去世,母亲年老病危,医生嘱咐用新鲜的竹笋做汤。此时正值寒冬,没有笋,孟宗只好独自跑到竹林里,扶着竹子哭泣。过了一会儿,突然听到地面裂开的声音,地上长了很多笋。孟宗大喜,回家煮汤喝,母亲一喝,病果然好了。后来他官至司空。
