80年代末，日本经济泡沫崩溃之后，啤酒厂家为了迎合大众低价消费的需要、开发了既不降低质量又能低价销售的发泡酒。麒麟公司在1998年加入发泡酒市场，并迅速扩大市场。札幌啤酒公司、三得利公司也不断开发出发泡酒的新产品。发泡酒迅速成长为仅次于啤酒的第二大酒精饮料。就1998年的统计资料来看，这一年啤酒产量比上年减少8%,发泡酒产量是上年的2.3倍。啤酒和发泡酒的合计产量仅比上年增加0.1%。4大啤酒厂家只有朝曰啤酒维持了增长的势头，其他各厂家的啤酒产量都大幅度下滑。人们对廉价商品的爱好有增无减， 形势相当严峻。发泡酒却像铅灰色天空的一屡阳光，给啤酒厂家们带来了希望。（无锡日语学习分享）
