CCTV Wuxi Movie/TV Base is the first large scaled base for movie and TV shooting and for tourism built in China. Constructed in 1987, it is the nation's first theme park incorporating movie and TV culture and tourism and is also one of the nation's first batch of 5A grade tourist scenic areas. With its unique functionality and charms it has been attracting nearly one hundred movie/TV production units every year to shoot over 1000 movies and TV plays here, while at the same time over 2 million person/time have come here each year as tourists and to explore the secrets of movie production. Thanks to the incessant upgrading of the scene zones and excellent services the popularity has been rising every day and with that, number of production units and tourist coming is steadily rising. In this regard the Base is leading the entire circle of the nation, being the widely acknowledged earliest and most successful movie/TV base in China and is given the title of "Oriental Hollywood". 
With movie and TV culture as the theme culture and the historic cultures to which the theme culture has extended, the Base has its distinct features and great depth. As the nationally known base for movie shooting the Base has received andaccommodated the shooting of thousands of movies and TV plays since its founding, among them are "Stories of Three Kingdoms", "Water Margin", "Emperor Ming Huang of Tang Dynasty", "Yang the Royal Concubine", "Stories in the Da Ming Palace", " A Haughty Smile at the Land of Heroes", " The Big House" and its serial, "Die Renjie", "The Six-finger Zither Demon", "The Buzzard-shooting Hero" "The Phoenix¡¯s Legend" " Love Stories in Tang Dynasty" , "Granaries of the Empire", "The God-like Doctor". All the year round the scene zones have production units stationed and movie stars from H.K. Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Mainland China keep coming and going. Apart from seeing stars at work on the scenes, tourists can take part in the meetings between stars and their fans, organized by the Base on an irregular basis, at which tourists may come within touching distance to the stars. City Water Margin is another Film and Television Cultural Scenic Spot base, which is used to shot large-scale TV series All men are brothersby CCTV after developing TANG and Three Kingdom City. The crew of All men are brotherscame into the base and began to shot on March, 1996. It was officially opened on 8th March 1997. Thesouth of City Water Marginadjacent toThree Kingdom City, to the west is Taihu Lake. It covers an area of 500 acres, the water area could be shooting is 1500 acres. The main scenic spot divided into Zhouxian area, Jingcheng area, Liangshan area. It is located at the Taihu Lake side .

In spite of the popular belief that Song Dynasty was one of delicate ornate-ness the painted railings and green tiles and scarlet red ridges of the Palace display a grand majestic-ness.
With the battle cries and fire and smoke gone, the majestic palaces and busy long street have now peace and quiet restored to them. Gao Qiu's Residence is now the museum of " Scroll of Shanghe Street on Qing Ming Day" and the Da Xian Guo Si Temple is attracting hundreds of pious believers, while Yu Xian Lou is the right place where you taste the Wuxi style delicacies.
The best of all is the "Shanghe Street on Qing Ming Day", constructed after the famous scroll of painting by Zhang Zeduan of Song Dynasty. It is an alleviation of the Royal Capital's grave solemnity. Descriptions like "misty willows and painted bridge" and "fluttering curtains and green drapery" reflect the luxuries characteristic of the capital. 

We are not sure what you might think of Pan Jinlian's destiny but we are quite sure that modern interpretation of the young woman's mentality by Ms Wang Siyi should have touched your heart.
This is the zone for provincial areas. You have Wu Dalang's home, Wang Po's teahouse, Zhengtu's butcher shop ¡­ things that the Chinese would not be unfamiliar. All buildings are purposefully made to look old. Smeared and gray walls blackened with smoke record the years gone by and stories repeated among the common people are all everyday happenings. Why, Pan Jinlian and Wu Dalang are still selling their buns in Water Margin Town today!
Beyond the myriad of lights and flagrant air of the town is the Lake's richly-endowed landscape. The well-preserved woods andreeds marshes are the cradle of movies/TV plays of historical themes. Lake Taihu is beautiful and her beauty stems out of the lake's water.
An expanse of water of 36000 qin, the Lake comes to its peak of beauty at this corner right here. Let's forget for the moment what pleasure it brings to drink at Xunyang Building, to listen to the fisherman's little tunes at Shige Village or common people's talk at Zhu Gui's wine shop, just the fishing in the reedy marshes gives pleasure enough to stay any city dweller, worn out by busy urban life.
Especially worth mentioning is the Golden Lake Taihu Waterway Itinerary just launched, which gives you full access to the Movie/TV Base, and the wonderful scenes of Turtle Head Islet and Ma Shan. The tour on water will strike you as something new.
