There is a stone lying lonely in the deep mountains for a long time. It has a dream that one day it can fly into the sky like a bird. When it tells its companions about its ideals, it immediately elicits ridicule from its companions: "Look, its heart is loftier than the sky,!" "It's fantastic!"
This stone ignores the gossip of its companions and still holds its ideals and waits for the opportunity.
One day, a man named Chuang-Tzu passed by. Knowing that he had extraordinary wisdom, he told Chuang-Tzu his ideal. Chuang-Tzu said, "I can help you realize your ideal, but you have to grow up into a mountain first. It takes a lot of suffering." Stone said, "I am not afraid of suffering." So the stone absorbs the spirit of heaven and earth, the essence of nature, and receives the benefits of rain and dew. It grows very hard. After many years and the baptism of wind and rain, it finally grows into a mountain.
So, Chuang-Tzu attracted the ROC to hit the mountain with wings, the sky was cloudy, thunder and lightning, shaking the mountain for a while. After a tremendous earth-shaking noise, the mountain burst open and countless rocks flew to the sky. At the moment of flying, the stone laughed happily. At last, it realized the joy of flying. But soon it fell out of the air and remained what it was and where it was.
Chuang-Tzu asked him, "Do you regret it?" "No, I don't regret it at all. I grew up over a mountain and I flew over it!" Stone said.
