郑人买鞋

郑国有一个人，眼看着自己脚上的鞋子从鞋帮到鞋底都已破旧，于是准备到集市上去买一双新的。

这个人去集市之前，在家先用一根小绳量好了自己脚的长短尺寸，随手将小绳放在座位上，起身就出门了。一路上，他紧走慢走，走了一二十里地才来到集市。集市上热闹极了，人群熙熙攘攘，各种各样的小商品摆满了柜台。这个郑国人径直走到鞋铺前，里面有各式各样的鞋子。郑国人让掌柜的拿了几双鞋，他左挑右选，最后选中了一双自己觉得满意的鞋子。他正准备掏出小绳，用事先量好的尺码来比一比新鞋的大小，忽然想起小绳被搁在家里忘记带来。于是他放下鞋子赶紧回家去。他急急忙忙地返回家中，拿了小绳又急急忙忙赶往集市。尽管他快跑慢跑，还是花了差不多两个时辰。等他到了集市，太阳快下山了。集市上的小贩都收了摊，大多数店铺已经关门。他来到鞋铺，鞋铺也打烊（yang）了。他鞋没买成，低头瞧瞧自己脚上，原先那个鞋窟窿现在更大了。他十分沮丧。

  有几个人围过来，知道情况后问他：“买鞋时为什么不用你的脚去穿一下，试试鞋的大小呢？”他回答说：“那可不成，量的尺码才可靠，我的脚是不可靠的。我宁可相信尺码，也不相信自己的脚。”

 这个故事告诉我们，做事不知变通、顽固不化的人不懂得具体分析，一味墨守成规，其结果只能失败，遭人嘲笑，不应该死板硬套，要灵活运用，那种舍本逐末的做法是不可取的。

정나라 사람 한 명이 자신의 발에 신은 신발이 갑피부터 바닥까지 낡아서 장터에 가서 새 것을 사려고 한다.이 사람은 장에 가기 전에 먼저 깁에서 가는 끈으로 발 치수를 재어 가지고 가는 줄을 자리에 놓고 일어나 나갔다.길을 가는 동안 그는 서둘러 느린 걸음으로 10~20리를 걸어서야 비로소 시장에 나왔다.장터는 붐볐고, 사람들로 북적거렸고, 각양각색의 잡화들이 카운터로 가득 진열되었다.이 정나라 사람은 곧바로 신발가게로 갔는데 안에는 각양각색의 신발이 있었다.정나라 사람은 가게 주인에게 신발 몇 켤레를 가져다 달라고 하였다. 그는 이리저리 고르다 결국 자기가 만족해 하는 신발 한 켤레를 골랐다.그는 노끈을 꺼내들고 미리 재어 놓은 사이즈로 새 신발의 크기를 비교하다가 문득 노끈이 집에다 놓여있는 것을 잊고 가져온것이 생각났다.그래서 그는 신발을 내려놓고 얼른 집으로 향했다.그는 부랴부랴 집으로 돌아오고, 밧줄을 잡고는 또 급히 시장으로 갔다.그가 아주 빨리 달렸음에도 불구하고 거의 두 시간을 썼다.그가 장에 도착하면 해가 곧 지려고 한다.장터에는 소상인들이다 거두어들였고 대부분의 점포들은 이미 문을 닫았다.그는 신발 가게에 와서 신발 가게도 문을 닫았다.그는 신발을 사지 못하고 고개를 숙이고 자기 발을 쳐다보았는데, 원래 그 신발 구멍은 지금 더 커졌다.그는 몹시 낙담했다.
