从小立志的徐霞客

徐霞客6岁去私塾读书，他天资聪明，最喜爱读游记，经常能在父亲的书柜里找到很多好看的书，便废寝忘食地读。

有一天，徐霞客从书中看到别人游历五湖四海的事迹之后，不以为然地说：“哈哈，男子汉大丈夫就应该早晨面对大海，晚上面对苍松。游八州，登五岳，有什么值得夸耀的。哼，我以后不但要涉足九州，亲登五岳，还要去游历海外呢！”

徐霞客从22岁开始出游，经过三十多年的艰苦跋涉，凭借一双脚走遍了16个省的山川。一路上他不怕险阻，登险峰、涉危洞，对地质、植物、气候实行了实地考察，取得了巨大的成就。

他所著的《徐霞客游记》把他游历的所见所闻真实地记录了下来，为后人的研究工作留下了宝贵的财富。

서하객은 6살 때 서당에 가서 공부하였다. 그는 천성이 총명하고 유람기를 가장 좋아했으며 늘 아버지의 책장에서 보기 좋은 책들을 많이 찾아내여 침식도 잊고 읽었다.

어느 날, 서하객은 책에서 다른 사람들이 방방곡곡을 유람한 사적을 보고"하하하, 사내대장부는 아침에 바다를 마주하고 저녁에는 푸른 소나무를 마주해야 한다.팔주를 유람하고 오악에 오르니 무슨 자랑할 것이 있겠는가.난 앞으로 전 중국도 가고 오악도 가고 해외여행도 할 거야!"

22살 때부터 여행을 떠난 서하객은 30여년의 간고한 여정을 거쳐 두발로 16개 성의 산천을 두루 돌아다녔다.도중에 그는 어려움과 위험을 두려워하지 않고 위험한 산봉우리를 등반하고 위험한 동굴에 들어가 지질, 식물, 기후에 대한 답사를 실시하여 거대한 성과를 거두었다.

그가 쓴 ≪ 서하객여행기 ≫는 그가 여행하면서 보고 들은것들을 진실하게 기록함으로써 후세의 연구사업에 귀중한 재부를 남겨주었다.
