World elected folk music gathered in Wuxi Tai Lake

Tai Lake welcomed the art exchange grand meeting in the golden October happily. On the evening of October 31, the 16th China Shanghai International Art Festival Wuxi Branch was opened in the Wuxi Grand Theatre. Huang Lixin, a member of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Wuxi Municipal Party Committee, announced the opening of the art festival. Wuxi municipal leaders Wang Quan, Zhang Yefei, Wang Guozhong, Cao Xirong, Hua Boya, Sun Zhiliang and related principals of the organizing committee of the Shanghai International Art Festival attended the opening ceremony.

As the only branch set up by the Shanghai International Art Festival, the Wuxi Branch of the previous 2 sessions had many competitive products and abundant contents, which has become an important brand activity of culture benefiting people in Wuxi. This activity of the Shanghai International Art Festival Wuxi Branch will last for 10 days. Many domestic and overseas first-rate artists will bring 37 splendid stage performances. Hundreds of mass culture groups in the whole city will respectfully present 21 artist programs. What's more, 6 high-end boutique exhibitions and expos will be organized and the activity of Wuxi privately-operated culture stadium art show month will be conducted. In 2014, the opening ceremony of the Wuxi Branch activity still featured folk music and continued the theme of folk music in the world gathered in Tai Lake in 2013.

Wang Quan, Mayor of Wuxi, stated in his speech that Wuxi will take this activity as an opportunity, actively absorb the essences of domestic and overseas culture and art works, further propel international cultural exchange, enhance Wuxi culture's influence and comprehensively promote the urban cultural connotation, thus adding more beauty to the construction of Charming Wuxi.
